| My talking about Dr. Vijay Shankar and his Ophthalmological attainment would only expose my inadequacy in field of Medicine. I can only say that he had been treating my eyes as his own. I belonged to the period and the professions of his father and grand father. His star father, actor Jai Shankar was a personal friend of mine and even as I went back to practice of law after my debut film, he was capable telling a film producer that “Charu anna will act in your film if I ask him to!” That he did and I came back to acting profession. Our friendship was such that Jai did work in a small feature film that was directed by me after his refusing many professional offers due to health reasons. |

| Doctor Vijay Shankar’s grand father Mr. K.A. Subramaniyam was the judge before whom I made my first appearance as a lawyer. He taught me the elements of legal practice and whatever decency that was attributed to me in my lawyer days and if a few people find a semblance of fairness and honesty in my thirty years of career in the film industry, they were all inculcated in me by a great soul, judge K.A. Subramaniyam. I am proud to be associated with three generations of the noble family |
